Responsible Gambling Week is an initiative led by the gambling industry fraternity that aims to create better awareness on responsible gambling. The cross-industry campaign is held annually, with this year’s edition coming from November 7-13 2019. During the week, the gambling industry aims to stir up conversations with all stakeholders and the general public about:

  • Irresponsible gambling habits.
  • The difference between responsible gambling and irresponsible gambling.
  • The harm caused by irresponsible gambling.
  • The available support systems and advice channels.

The BetPal team are backing Responsible Gambling week and want to create as much buzz and awareness to educate our visitors on how they can enjoy gambling responsibly. The cross-industry initiative will see all types of organisations such as media websites, land-based casinos, sports leagues, football teams, amusement arcades, betting shops, online gambling websites, and gambling charities join together to promote responsible gambling.

Gambling regulations have been emphasising the importance of gambling operators to come up with innovative tools and ways of promoting responsible gambling and protecting players who are incapable of controlling their gambling habits. However, we need to promote responsible gambling outside of the industry and generate awareness within the mainstream audiences.

Operators have come up with tools for detecting bad habits, and methods like session limits, loss limits, and deposit limits to ensure responsible gambling. More promotional material and tools containing key information on responsible gambling will be made available to the operators and supporting organisations throughout Responsible Gambling week.

Even though more responsibility is placed on operators, players should also strive to ensure they gamble in a more responsible manner themselves. Gamblers need to make sure they are playing with a company that is fully licensed and has clear limits for deposits and loses.

We encourage all of our readers to check-out our responsible gambling page  to check-in and make sure you don’t have any signs of irresponsible gambling habits. Please also check on relatives and friends’ gambling to ensure we have a safer gambling environment. The public can attend workshops and training sessions from supporting charities like GamCare and BeGambleAware during Responsible Gambling Week.
