In December, the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award will be presented in the P&J Live Arena in Aberdeen.

Today, we are going to be taking a look at who some of the contenders are, and where you should place your bets.

At this moment in time, there are plenty of contenders who are in the running to receive the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.

Following Ben Stokes closely is Lewis Hamilton, with SkyBet offering odds of 14/1 and both William Hill and Paddy Power offering odds of 12/1. Lewis did previously win the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award in 2014. This season, his skills as a driver have been well-reflected on the podiums.

Raheem Sterling

Next in line is Raheem Sterling, a professional footballer who spends his time playing for both Manchester City and England. At this moment in time, there are even sports presenters who are stating that he is one of the best footballers in the world. SkyBet are offering odds of 16/1, while William Hill and Paddy Power are offering odds of 14/1.
