Richmond Football Club v Greater Western Sydney Giants

Two teams have battled through and fought off tough competition to reach the 2019 AFL Grand Final, and not many people would have expected at the start of the season to see Richmond and Greater Western Sydney lining up against each other to fight for overall Premiership glory.

If you take a look at the last handful of games, however, then you start to see champion worthy credentials in both teams and this all points towards a fierce final at the MCG on Saturday (28th September).

Richmond Tigers On A Roll

Richmond’s first half of the season was nothing to write home about but they found a new lease life in the second half of the season and finished up in 3rd position which included an extraordinary 11-win streak.

The Tigers have taken this form into the playoffs and blown away both Brisbane Lions and Geelong to reach the final. The skill and class of Shane Edwards will be something to look out for in the final and the Tigers will be looking to him for that creative spark in the middle of the park.

Elsewhere, Jack Riewoldt has been quiet in the run-up to the final but we can see him shining and pushing the Tigers on with some important goals in the final.

Stubborn Giants Force Way To Final

Greater Western Sydney Giants

Greater Western Sydney Giants have played out a different type of season to the Tigers and their route to the final proved to be tricky after their sixth-place finish.

We first saw the Giants ease past the Western Bulldogs but then tough opposition in the form of Brisbane Lions and Collingwood showed us what they were really made of.

The fact that they came through each of these close encounters shows their true persistence and stamina. Jeremy Cameron stands out as the main man for the Giants, especially when you take note of his impressive record against Richmond this year.

Cameron has scored 10 goals in two matches against the Tigers already and backing him to add to that tally is a bet worth looking into.
