William Hill have been confirmed as the new sponsors of the Professional Darts Corporation’s Grand Slam of Darts tournament, which will run from from November 12th to November 20th 2011, at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall. The new sponsors understandably make Phil “The Power” Taylor the favourite for the upcoming tournament.

William Hill’s chief marketing officer, Kristof Fahy, said: “The William Hill Grand Slam of darts is one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world of darts and it’s a privilege to be able to put our name to such an event.”

The newly titled William Hill Grand Slam of Darts will feature 32 top darts players facing off in groups of four, with the top two players from each group entering a sixteen man knockout competition.

Players featuring in the 2011 PDC Grand Slam of Darts will be three times competition winner Phil Taylor, as well as defending champion Scott Waites. Each will be looking to claim the first prize of £100,000.

PDC chairman Barry Hearn said of the new sponsorship deal: “We’d like to welcome William Hill as the new title sponsors of the 2011 Grand Slam of Darts and look forward to working with such a well-known and respected brand.”

Hearn continued: “This tournament brings together the greatest players in darts, who have qualified by virtue of their achievements in major tournaments over a two year period, and in William Hill we have a sponsor whose state reflects that.”
