West Ham v Wigan throws up a betting tip in the Anytime scorer market. The visitors have the greater need for League points, but they have not always been able to translate that into results on the road. Can they change things on Saturday?
Match: West Ham v Wigan
Betting tip: Mark Noble to Score Anytime
Best Odds: 7.0 with Coral
Kick Off: 15:00 20/04/2013 (GMT)
West Ham boast some solid home form. They have yet to be beaten by any side outside of the top seven, and manager Sam Allardyce has already talked up the importance of these fixtures versus “teams in the bottom eight”. Only Manchester City have managed to stop the Hammers scoring at Upton Park, so Wigan look highly likely to concede. The Latics have lost nine of their sixteen away games, and let in twenty six goals in the process. While recent trips to QPR and Reading produced points (A draw and a win respectively) visits to Manchester City and Chelsea ended in defeat. There is plenty of talk this time of year about Wigan “doing it again”, so perhaps the match odds market is too treacherous to get involved in – but the likelihood of a home goal or two may provide some value. Andy Carroll is the obvious source of goals at the moment, but at a bigger price, Mark Noble can get his name on the scoresheet. A shoulder operation has kept him out over recent weeks, but a late cameo versus Manchester United in midweek confirmed his fitness. With goals drying up for Kevin Nolan and Noble back for penalty duties, the 7.0 with Coral looks handy.
