Washington is on the verge of sweeping Arizona in a three games series, after scoring a total of 10 rounds in the previous two games. The visitors are counting on their stellar pitcher to win the final fixture, although his counterpart is one of the best in Major League Baseball.
Odds: Winner Sports 2.30
Arizona was limited to just two runs in the second game of the series and the odds of improving that percentage against Stephen Strasburg are remote. The pitcher has an earned run average of 2.46 and prevented opponents from scoring more than two runs in each of his last three starts. This makes it even more surprising that this stellar starting pitcher has a losing record, but the only ones to blame are his offensive teammates who didn’t provide him with sufficient runs of support.
Strasburg has been dominant at home and has one of the best ERAs in baseball, being second to teammate Jordan Zimmermann. Arizona will need to find a way to score a couple of runs in the nation’s capital, but they can rely on their starting pitcher to give Strasburg a run for his money. Patrick Corbin has a perfect record in 2013 winning all nine decisions and another victory will make him the second pitcher to enter double digits area. He came painfully close of achieving just that in the last four games, but he was not given a decision in those starts.
This is a classical pitchers’ duel and it is only fair to say that the game could go either way when such outstanding players go head to head. Having said this, it makes perfect sense to choose the better odds in a coin flip, more precisely the odds of 2.30 offered by Winner Sports for an away victory.
