Once again the Ultimate Fighting Championships have provided an excellent fight card for their traditional Super Bowl weekend card as UFC 169 lines up with two big title fights as well as a number of other exciting match-ups. Both the bantamweight and featherweight titles are on the line and whilst we don’t have any strong tips for those fights, there is money to be made in one of the earlier fights and that is where the best of our free UFC betting tips comes from, where an early finish is expected by one of the favourites and can be backed at 20/21 with BetVictor.

Two heavyweights in desperate need of a victory clash at UFC 169 as Alistair Overeem and Frank Mir lock horns on respective two and three fight losing streaks. Overeem starts as a heavy favourite, best priced at 4/11 with BoyleSports with the underdog, Mir, as big as 5/2.

Alistair Overeem is short enough at the prices but is still the man to back in this fight and is the best of our free UFC 169 betting tips. However, we don’t recommend backing him at 4/11 and there is a much better way to get the Dutchman on side.

Troubled by cardio issues, Overeem tends to favour an early finish in his fights and that is the best way to back him in his fight with Mir. Overeem has an incredible 30 career wins in the first round, of his 36 total wins, something which is an astonishingly strong indicator as to how his fights will go when he is heavy favourite.

Given he is 4/11 outright, I would be expecting a price of around 4/7-4/6 for a first round win for Alistair Overeem given the percentage of his fights he wins in the first round, however we can make an excellent value bet by backing Overeem to win in the first round at 20/21 with BetVictor.

The opponent he is facing is also a positive in this bet. Frank Mir gives me the impression that, despite his relatively young age, he is a fighter on his way out and we are catching him on the severe decline. Also, there is a huge discrepancy in the striking department with Overeem a famed striker with striking far from Mir’s strongest suit.

Frank Mir has 7 career losses by TKO/KO (of 8 career losses) with 5 of those losses coming in the first round. Expect Overeem to dominate the fight standing, both at distance and in the clinch, before finishing before we hear the signal for the end of the first round.
