Liverpool and Manchester City meet on Sunday at Wembley in the Capital One Cup final, with both teams are trying to put inconsistent Premier League campaigns to one side. Liverpool have been the Premier League’s most inconsistent side this season, even after the appointment of highly-rated boss Jurgen Klopp. They
made it through to the final by winning the semi-final on penalties against Stoke, after the two-legged tie finished 1-1 on aggregate.

Manchester City made it through to the final by beating Everton 4-3 on aggregate over two legs. City lost 2-1 in the first leg at Goodison Park, but then won the second leg 3-1.

City still have a chance of finishing the season with multiple silverware, but that congested fixture list may hamper that. After putting out a much weakened side in the FA Cup game at Chelsea last weekend, in midweek they travel to Kiev and are likely to only have one day training before heading to Lndon for the final. With a squad suffering injury problems, they head into the game with midfielders Kevin de Bruyne, Samir Nasri and Fabian Delph sidelined. Bacary Sagna, Eliaquim Mangala Jesus Navas and Wilfried Bony all remain doubtful too. This schedule of three games in a week travelling thousands of miles across three competitions is extremely onerous and might count against them here

There should be goals in this game, in part because of City’s defensive fragilities and the presence of Aguero in the line up and the 10/11 on offer for over 2.5 goals looks attractive. I wouldn’t be surprised to see extra-time and like Liverpool’s chances as underdogs of winning

Odds for the game in 90 minutes are Manchester City 11/8 Liverpool 2/1 and the draw 5/2. City are 8/11 to lift the trophy and Liverpool 5/4
