The 40 year old unknown came to his first WPT final table with the chip lead and used his edge effectively, eventually beating Spanish film producer Roberto Garcia Santiago in a brief Heads Up battle.
Theo Jorgensen Wins WPT Grand Prix de Paris
Tuesday, 18 May, 2010Season nine of the World Poker Tour has begun, with the return of the Grand Prix de Paris to the schedule. 247 players bought into the €10,000 buy-in No Limit Hold’em event at the Champs-Elysées venue, with Danish poker pro Theo Jorgensen coming out on top.

David Williams Wins WPT Championship
Monday, 26 April, 2010David Williams has landed the eighth World Poker Tour Championship Event, after coming through a star studded final table at the Bellagio hotel and casino. The Texan, who famously finished second to Greg Raymer in the 2004 World Series of Poker Main Event, beat Eric “basebaldy” Baldwin heads up to net the $1,530,537 first prize.
Eighth World Poker Tour Championship Underway
Wednesday, 21 April, 2010Sunday April 18th saw the commencement of the eighth World Poker Tour Championship Event at the Bellagio hotel and casino complex, Las Vegas. The $25,000 No Limit Hold’em tournament, won in previous years by the likes of Alan Goehring, Carlos Mortensen and Yevgeniy Timoshenko, marks the pinnacle of the WPT calendar and was designed as an alternative to the World Series of Poker, the unofficial “World Championships” of poker.
Carlos Mortensen Takes WPT Hollywood Poker Open

Although the $9,600 + $400 buyin event only drew 143 entrants, there were still some quality players in the field, including Eric Froehlich, Josh Arieh and Carlos Mortensen.
WPT LA Poker Classic Update
Wednesday, 3 March, 2010The LA Poker Classic, a $10,000 buy-in No Limit Hold’em tournament which is televised by the World Poker Tour, got underway on Friday in California’s Commerce Casino. The prestigious event has attracted 745 participants, including some of poker’s biggest stars, all bidding for a share of a $7,152,000 prize fund.
