Now well into the pool stages of the 2018-2019 competition

26th December
Perth Scorchers v Adelaide Strikers

Multiple time BBL winners Perth have lost their first two games of the season and their batting has failed twice scoring just 147 and 103 giving an above average bowling attack little chance of defending low totals

They face a tough prospect against defending champions Adelaide who beat Brisbane in the first game of this year’s competition and then somewhat surprisingly failed to defend 174 against the Renegades despite Rashid yet again conceding less than 20 in his four overs

At 10/11 Adelaide should bounce back, with Sky Bet

27th December
Sydney Sixers v Melbourne Stars

The Sixers beat Perth defending 164 in their first game of the season and then in the Sydney derby on Christmas Eve they had to chase 170 to make it two from two, a big target on a pitch getting slower. The Sixers got nowhere close falling to 45- 5 before Curran (62 runs to follow three wickets earlier) got them to a respectable reply

The Stars lost to the Thunder conceding 181 and then failed in rain affected chase. At Hobart on Monday they set the hosts 155 and didn’t defend that, the upshot of which is that they have lost their first two games of the season
I like the Stars at 11/10 with Sky Bet to get off the mark for the season

28th December
Hobart Hurricanes v Sydney Thunder

Hobart beat Brisbane defending 159 in their first match and then chased 155 to beat the Stars at home in the second game to lie top of the table after their first two games

Thunder beat the Stars in their first game then defended 169 (behind Buttler’s 63 opening the batting) in the Sydney Derby on Christmas Eve to join Hobart at the top of the early league table

This should be a good game but at home you have to like the look of Hobart at 10/11 with Sky Bet.
