Ahead of this batch of matches the Hobart Hurricanes lead the Sydney Thunder at the top of the table
Friday 4th January
Hobart Hurricanes v Sydney Sixers
In their last match Hobart beat the Scorchers comfortably and last season’s finalists have now won their first four games of this season. The Sixers are well in the mix too having won 3 of their five games most recently chasing the Heat’s 164 to win on Boxing Day. Englishman Tom Curran is proving a match-winner and is the second highest wicket taker in the competition to date.
Hobart are obviously favourites at home. It helps that Hobart is one of the truest pitches in a tournament of so far disappointing surfaces and we can back them to continue their run at 10/11 with SkyBet.
Saturday 5th January
Melbourne Stars v Sydney Thunder
The Stars have won two of their four games most recently winning the Melbourne Derby on New Years Day. This is a closesly priced match as the Thunder are probably the most improved team in the competition particularly on slow pitches. On Tuesday they defended 142 against the Scorchers winning by one run!
I like the Thnder to win a low scoring game here at Evens with Bet365.
Saturday 5th January
Perth Scorchers v Brisbane Heat
The Scorchers are struggling with one win in their five games to date most recently falling one run short of chasing 142 to win on Tuesday. For the most successful team in BBL history this is a huge disappointment and so far their batting has been the weakest line up in the competition.
Brisbane have an explosive batting line up but a weak bowling attack and have lost their first three games of the competition. In this battle of the bottom two teams in the early league table and athome you have to like the Scorchers at 10/11
Sunday 6th January
Adelaide Strikers v Sydney Sixers
Defending champion Adelaide have only won two of their first four games most recently comforatably defending 175 to beat the Thunder. This will be the Sixers second game in this cycle of games and they are well in the mix too having won 3 of their five games most recently chasing the Heat’s 164 to win on Boxing Day but this is a punishing travel schedule with two away games in Hobart and Adelaide in four days and the home side have to be favoured at 5/6 with SkyBet
