Friday 15th March
6.35am GMT Chiefs v Hurricanes
The Chiefs were beaten 57-28 at the Crusaders last weekend and have now lost their first four matches of season while the Hurricanes beat the Highlanders 25-22 with an 82nd minute penalty. This was their third win in four games and they are 8 point favourites here to win away against a New Zealand rival, and I expect the Hurricanes to cover at 10/11
8.45am Brumbies v Waratahs
The Brumbies lost 29-26 at the Rebels last weekend and have 1 win in 4 matches whilst the Waratahs beat the Reds 28-17 for their second win in three matches. The Waratahs are +1 on the handicap at 10/11 and I think they will win
5.10pm Stormers v Jaguares
The Stormers have two wins in their first three matches, a good recovery after a heavy defeat at the Bulls in week 1. The Jaguares lost 47-39 at the Lions in week 4 and now have two wins and two losses ahead of this their third game of South African tour. They are 6 point underdogs at 10/11 for the match in Cape Town and I like their chances of covering
Saturday 16th March
4.15am Sunwolves v Reds
The Sunwolves lost 28-20 at the Blues, and this was encouragingly low margin of defeat. The Reds lost 28-17 at the Waratahs and have now lost their first three matches of the season. This does not mean they should be underdogs, priced up at +3 on the spread at 10/11, to the Japanese team though, there is still a big gap between the Sunwolves and the rest. The Reds +3 is one of the bets of the week.
6.35am Highlanders v Crusaders
The Highlanders lost to Hurricanes 25-22 in week 4 to a last minute penalty. They now have two wins and two losses this season. The Crusaders beat the Chiefs 57-28 for their fourth successive win this season and they should be backed -8 at 10/11 to continue this in week 5
3.05pm Lions v Rebels
The Lions beat the Jaguares 47-39 in week 4 and now have 2 wins and 2 losses this season. The Rebels beat the Brumbies 29-26 for their third win in a row ahead of a South African tour and are +7 on the handicap, I think they will do better than +7 and would back them on the spread.
