St. Louis is on the verge of sweeping the Marlins after winning both games in the series and all they need is another solid outing from Lance Lynn. Miami is once again the worst team in MLB and their terrible away performance doesn’t give them too many hopes to improve this record.
Bet: St Louis -1.5 runs
Odds: Winner Sports 2.25
Lance Lynn is the second pitcher in the Cardinals’ rotation that broke the 10 victories barrier and he has been particularly sharp at Busch Stadium. He won nine consecutive decisions and posted an ERA of 2.51, but he has suffered back-to-back defeats including a disappointing one to the LA Angels. His opponents caused his untimely retirement and Lynn was relieved of his duties as early as the sixth inning, something that can’t happen again against Miami.
The visitors are trying to turn around a terrible season and some signs of improvement are visible, although they still have a long way to go. Jose Fernandez is one of the few bright spots in the rotation as the starting pitcher has conceded less than three runs per game. Despite this performance, he barely succeeded in keeping a positive record and will need the full support of his teammates if he is to avoid the fifth defeat this season. What is worth mentioning about him is that he secured most of his victories at home, while losing four decisions on the road and allowing more than four runs per match.
St. Louis should have an easy mission in winning the third consecutive game against Miami, en route to sweeping the series. Winner Sports offers excellent odds for the Cardinals to win by 2 runs or more, and with Lance Lynn on the mound this is a very likely outcome.
