The Red Sox are looking at a historical performance, as they have the chance of winning the World Series at Fenway Park for the first time in almost a century. The Cardinals have dug themselves into a hole and they will need a stellar performance from Joe Kelly who didn’t get a winning decision in his previous outing.
Odds: Winner Sports 1.83
Boston won two out of three games at Busch Stadium and their starting pitchers have virtually shootout the Cardinals, something that didn’t happen in the two matches at Fenway Park. John Lackey was lucky to receive above average support from his offensive teammates in the second game of the series and is counting on a similar performance in the fifth. David Ortiz has scored in consecutive games and promises fans that this will be a night to remember in Boston.
St. Louis couldn’t care less about the Red Sox dreams of celebrating another historical milestone, but their hopes of pushing the series into a decisive game are slim. Kelly won just one decision these playoffs and unfortunately for him his teammates scored plenty of runs in those games where he was already way ahead. The Cardinals were surprisingly weak in the most recent games and even the 4-2 victory secured in the first match at Busch Stadium was the result of a technicality.
Winner Sports offers odds of 1.83 for a home victory, a great wager for risk-averse players who are reluctant to bet on Boston to cover the -1.5 runs spread. The Red Sox have no intentions of turning the series into a thriller and with John Lackey on the mound, they won’t need to sweat in the seventh game.
