The fifth and final ODI takes place on Tuesday in Colombo. England lead 3-0
Sri Lanka put up their first creditable score of a rain affected series in scoring 273-7 in the 4th ODI including seven sixes. In reply England reached 132-2 needing 140 from the second half of their innings. When torrential rain arrived the DLS par score was 114-2 and England were 132-2. England therefore win and win the series.
They got a big moment of fortune earlier in the innings. Joe Root was out caught but a no-ball was given because Sri Lanka did not have enough fielders inside the 30-yard circle. That happened with the score 112-2 with England well ahead on DLS.
If Root had have been out then the DLS par score would have moved to 112-3 and the scores would have been tied.
The final match of the series takes place in the capital Colombo on Tuesday. England once again are 1/2 Sri Lanka 2/1 and ahead of their home world cup next year England are a far superior one day team. With the series won it could be that squad players get a run out in team rotation. England should win again
