Sportingbet Will Join Ongame Poker Network

Ongame recently issued a press release saying that Sportingbet will join its global poker network in the second half of 2011.

-”Ongame has a great track record as a poker partner for major sportsbook brands”, says Ben Freeman, Poker Manager at Sportingbet, one of the world’s largest online gaming companies. “We are impressed by their approach to network ecology and we’re excited to widen our offering with increased liquidity and better promotions to our players.”

The signing of Sportingbet is consistent with Ongame’s strategy to ensure poker profitability by working with the world’s strongest sportsbook brands. Ongame’s network includes poker brands owned by Betfair, bwin, Betsson (who also belongs to the Entraction network), Unibet, PAF, EuroSport, Bet24 and Gioco Digitale as well as twenty other brands.

-“With Sportingbet we are building on our position as the premier choice for sportsbook operators,” says David Pittel, Managing Director of Ongame Network. “Sportingbet not only brings us increased liquidity and reach in further markets, but more importantly they share our view of poker. We are really looking forward to working with them.”

Books on Gambling April 2010
There’s nothing like a good book to help you wind down after a busy day at work, or to pass the time between hands at the poker table. Here’s a quick roundup of the recently published literature in the world of gambling.

Holdem Indicator
Whether you play your poker live or online, you know that identifying players’ tendencies is invaluable. If there was a way in which you could track the percentage of hands a specific player enters, how frequently he raises and how often he goes all the way to the river, wouldn't that give you the edge? Well, we cannot do it live for you, but if you are a regular online player, you should try out the poker odds calculator available from HoldemIndicator.com

Review of Full Tilts "Rush" Poker
Back in January, Full Tilt Poker released their latest innovation in poker play – “Rush Poker”. This is an exceptionally fast and welcome addition to the variety of poker games generally available and, now it has been around for six weeks, we thought it would be a good time to see if all the hype has been justified.

Picking the Right Poker Game
Of all the tricks and tips to improve a novice player’s chances of winning at poker, one of the easiest to implement, yet so often overlooked, is that of choosing the right game.

Finding Value in Satellites
At this moment in time, practically every poker site is tempting their clientele with gateways to multi-million dollar competitions such as the WSOP, SCOOP and ECOOP, but are they really as valuable to a player as they seem? If you were to win (say) a $50 qualifier to one of the big finals, would you not have been better off taking the $10.000 prize and then deciding what you would like to do with the money?

PokerPal: Find Live Poker Games Near You
Findpokerpal.com and www.pokerpal.org are great web sites on which you can find out where you local games of poker are being played, meet new players – and beat them.

Secrets of Short-Handed No Limit Hold'em: Winning Strategies for Short-Handed and Heads Up Play
Short–handed and heads-up poker is an area where every complete poker player needs to be proficient. Unless you only ever play full-table ring games, at some stage (hopefully often) you will be in a situation where you are reaching the end of a SnG or tournament, and the dynamics of your game, and the play of your opponents, will change.
