Mercedes secured their fourth 1-2 of the new season in Baku, with Bottas and Hamilton recording two wins each

Once again in Baku Ferrari appeared to be the fastest car in free practices, and LeClerc looked to have the edge over Vettel. A mistake in qualifying from LeClerc ruined his chances of pole position, put him on an alternative strategy for the race from which he climbed the field but in the absence of tace attrition he was unlikely to win.

Mercedes are not making any mistakes, an experienced driver line up and effective race strategies are bring home results as Ferrari struggle for consistency with Red Bull the third quickest team but not yet on the level of the front two teams.

Barcelona next weekend represents the venue at which F1 conducted its winter testing and for which the teams have a lot of data. Then Ferrari were up to a second quicker than Mercedes, but Mercedes have caught up substantially in the early stages of the season long development race.

Odds for the Spanish Grand Prix are as follows, with Skybet.

Hamilton 6/4
Bottas 5/2
Vettel 9/2
LeClerc 9/2
Verstappen 12/1
Bar 150/1

LeClerc is on the verge of a major breakthrough and seeing him at the same price as Vettel when on pace alone he seems to enjoy the car more is interesting. Also at 9/2 when he is driving the quickest car on the grid, if not the quickest overall package in terms of team strategy and consistency, looks to represent another value spot even allowing for the high variance in F1 betting markets this season.

Recommendation Charles LeClerc to win the Spanish Grand Prix 9/2 Skybet.
