LA Dodgers are quickly surging through the standings and they are now only one victory away from tying Colorado for the second place. Meanwhile, San Francisco has sunk to the bottom place and desperately needs a victory to stay in the race for a playoff spot.
Bet: LA Dodgers
Odds: Winner Sports 2.25
The Dodgers will send in Stephen Fife who has conceded less than three rounds per game and won three decisions this season. Given the manner in which the visitors performed in the opening game, Stephen can rest assured that his teammates would provide him with sufficient amounts of support to win his fourth decision. LA will be without Matt Kemp who suffered an injury in the first game of the series, but there are plenty of hard-hitting players in their rotation to make up for these absence.
By contrast, San Francisco has only Madison Bumgarner to count on, as the starting pitcher won eight decisions so far and posted an ERA of 3.08. In his last outing against Colorado he lasted six innings and conceded just two rounds, this being one of the few victories for San Francisco in July. Another reason for concern is that the bullpen fails to rise to the occasion, with plenty of runs being conceded in the final innings of the game. If the Giants are to tie the series in game two, Bumgarner will have to keep them alive for more than six innings and hope that the relievers do their job.
The only reason to trust San Francisco is their starting pitcher, but at odds of 2.25 for the Dodgers to prevail it is worth backing the underdog. Winner Sports is the bookmaker to go to if you trust the visitors to win the series tonight by taking the score to 2-0.
