The German, who has managed to defeat some really big names on her way to this match, will be coming into the match as the favourite – and it needs to be said that it is pretty hard to see her losing. After all, those who were expecting her to come down to her usual level after beating Serena Williams were clearly wrong, as she followed that big upset with two great performances against Kanepi and Radwanska.

On the other hand, Marion Bartoli has been on the receiving end of some good fortune, as she hasn’t really had to play against any tough opponents so far, with Sloane Stephens being the most difficult opponent of them all. She has done nothing wrong on her way here, but she will be up against a challenge that might simply come at the wrong time for her, as her match against Kirsten Flipkens was as straightforward as it could possibly be.

That could easily mean that she will start this match a bit slowly and, at the end of the day, that could see her fall without much resistance. It is incredibly hard to come back from a poor start in big matches – and Lisicki simply seems to be too strong for Bartoli right here right now, even though she might obviously also suffer from some never when trying to finish things off. Hopefully, that won’t prevent her from covering this particular handicap line, which seems pretty acceptable and worth backing.
