Wigan v Hull KR

Champions Wigan Warriors are strong favourites to win when Hull KR visit the DW Stadium on Friday night.
Wigan lost going behind late on to Castleford Tigers in last Sunday’s meeting but should bounce back against a Rovers side without a win so far this season. While the Warriors went down 36-31 to the Tigers ,Rovers lost 38-18 against high-flying St Helens. Wigan are 1/9 outright and 18 point favourites. I think they will cover the handicap. We’ll get more bang for our buck in the Frst try-scorer market though, with prolific winger Josh Charnley at 7/1 with William Hill

Leeds Rhinos v Widnes

Two unbeaten clubs meet at Headingley as Leeds Rhinos host the fast-improving Widnes Vikings. The Rhinos dropped their first point of the season in the 12-12 draw with Huddersfield Giants last match while the Vikings’ win over Salford gave them three wins from three.

Widnes’ trip to Leeds will be their first away match of the season and by far their toughest test and Widnes are 18 point underdogs with the Rhinos 1/8. In this case I would not be surprised to see the Vikings cover.

What Leeds do have in their favour though is the best set of backs in the Super League, a fast surface and the home team has the most line breaks in the competition. This bodes well for more first try-scorer bets on the likes of Tom Briscoe at 7-1, my choice, and Zak Hardaker is a possibility at 12-1 too

Salford v Warrington

Salford Red Devils will be out to end a two-game losing run against a Warrington Wolves team who made it back-to-back wins last weekend. The Red Devils lost to Widnes Vikings last Thursday while the Wolves ran out clear winners against the struggling London Broncos

Salford are a side in a hurry, with lots of new investment in many experienced and talented players and it’s only a matter of time before they put it together. For now though they are struggling to gel and convert patches of good play into 80- minute performances

Warrington at 1/3 are 10 point favourites, which is competitively pitched. Joel Monaghan is a stand out 9/1 with Skybet for first try-scorer

St Helens v Catalan Dragons

Almost no offers on St Helens here, at 1/20 and as high as 34 point favourites! St Helens should record their fifth win from five games this season. While they are unbeaten it has been the opposite for the Dragons who are pointless from their opening four games. St Helens should cover, if I am pressed, but not with my money at +34. I like Jordan Turner at 12-1 in the first try-scorer market
