In our pre-tournament preview, we’ve tipped Roger Federer to win the entire tournament at odds that look very good at the minute, as the Swiss number two made it all the way down to the finals and has a good chance of capturing yet another Wimbledon title on Sunday. For those who’ve already followed us on the pre-tournament pick, we’d recommend just sitting back and enjoying the action. Hopefully, Roger Federer will be able to beat the world’s number two, Novak Djokovic.

If you haven’t followed us on the Federer pick before the start of the tournament, we think that it’s still a good idea to back the man from Switzerland for the victory, as the odds are acceptably high in our eyes. Arguably, he’s had more luck than Novak Djokovic in terms of the draw, as he’s yet to meet a really strong player, but he’s made it through without any scratches and, even more importantly, he’s saved plenty of energy while doing so. Djokovic spent quite a few hours on the court on Friday, after all, while Federer stormed through to the finals by winning in straight sets.

The most important thing, however, is that Djokovic isn’t playing his best tennis at the moment. He’s a top-notch player and he’s not to be written off in the finals, but he was visibly frustrated by Marin Cilic in the quarter-finals and the same happened to him against Grigor Dimitrov in the semi-finals, so perhaps he’s not even ready for a match of this magnitude. Roger Federer will be the one backed by the fans, so Djokovic won’t get much support, which should make him even more frustrated once Federer grabs the momentum and starts to dominate. Therefore, Roger Federer is our pick in the finals on Sunday.
