Responsible Gambling Week is back. Let’s all think about our gambling behaviour and make sure we play responsibly!

Next month sees the return of Responsible Gambling Week, a campaign that aims to improve awareness of responsible gambling with the biggest ever national conversation on the important topic. The industry-wide initiative is back for a second consecutive year to get the conversation started about responsible gambling throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland.

What Responsible Gambling Week Is About

So, what does responsible gambling actually mean? Not everyone can enjoy playing online slots or making a weekly sports bet just for fun, and they might understand the warning signs. Some people are not able to stop gambling and excessive gambling can lead to addiction and ruin lives. Responsible gambling is being able to control your betting habit and remaining responsible with your actions. Gambling companies are also obliged to offer a service that is responsible, ethical and safe for their players. We always consider the impact of everything we write about online and try to educate our users reading our casino news, bonus offers or company reviews. Responsible Gambling Week will spread more awareness and we are proud to be part of this great initiative.

There is no exception – everyone who gambles faces the risk of gambling issues. That’s why the warning signs, support and tips for keeping it fun need to be communicated. Gambling harm doesn’t just refer to financial losses, it can damage your health, well-being and personal life. This can go beyond the concerns of an individual and affect friends and families, as well as workplaces. Unfortunately, the dark side of gambling and its unwanted consequences are often downplayed and not spoken about because of the sensitivity of the problem. This is why we are supporting Responsible Gambling Week to help spread awareness far and wide in the wider public.

The cross-industry campaign will see companies from the bricks-and-mortar and online industries working together to discuss responsible gambling to with their stakeholders. Betting shops, amusement arcades, online casinos, software companies, gambling apps, gambling charities and casino news websites like ourselves will focus on the different things tools available to keep gambling safe, fun, affordable and where to find support.
