Nick Kyrgios might still be a fairly unknown name, but it would be a big mistake to think that he is just one of those average players that don’t really deserve much credit. In fact, he is one of the most promising young talents out there and he has already announced himself by playing really well in Australia at the beginning of the year and by winning the boy’s singles event in Melbourne.

He has also done well in quite a few low-key events before taking a break before the French Open, which is supposed to be his big debut on the main stage. The draw could have been much tougher for him, but that doesn’t mean that he will be too happy about the fact that he will have to face Radek Stepanek, who is one of the most experienced players on the tour right now.

Nevertheless, he should take some comfort from the fact that the Czech has not hit his very best just yet after coming back from a fairly long injury break, so the goal for him is to just go out there and start swinging as soon as possible, as careful play just isn’t going to do the trick against someone as skilled as Stepanek. Thankfully for the fans of the Australian, swinging freely is what Kyrgios seems to be good at – and, if he manages to find his rhythm on serve early on, he will certainly be in with a chance of getting something from his French Open debut.
