After two weeks of the new season four unbeaten teams remain. No surprises with Manchester City and Chelsea, even Tottenham, but Swansea too. What are the week’s best betting opportunities in the Premier League?

Recommendations

West Ham to beat Southampton at 17/10 BetVictor

Tottenham v Liverpool over 3.5 goals at 33/20 Sportingbet

Aston Villa v Hull City, perm 1-1 correct score at 6-1 BetVictor and No Goalscorer 13/2 Betfair Sportsbook

West Ham v Southampton

Both teams will feel this is a winnable game. West Ham impressed at Crystal Palace and Southampton performed creditably at Liverpool before gaining their first point of the season at home to West Brom.

At home for this game West Ham have to be favourites though and the 17/10 best price at BetVictor on a home win looks decent value to me against a side wtih a lot of new pieces to incorporate into the line up which will probably be better as the season develops, after the two transfer windows

Tottenham v Liverpool

Although it might be argued that in scoring four goals at home to QPR last weekend Tottenham were only doing what should be expected against newly promoted opponents there were encouraging signs of tacticial fluidity in the Spurs game and conversely in Liverpool’s loss on Manchester City on monday night signs of defensive fraility particularly down both flanks where Johnson was disappointing and Moreno looked to struggle with the pace of the game.

With both teams offering a lot of attacking talent, goals look to be on the cards here. Over 2.5 goals is a 4/6 favourite which looks fair. I like the look of over 3.5 goals at 33/20 with Sportingbet for a more aggressive alternative on Sunday afternoon

Aston Villa v Hull City

Thinking about this game before looking at prices, i resolutely wanted to be on unders. Villa have kept two clean sheets in two games so far this season, and for as long as Ron Vlaar is the cornerstone of the defence they will be orgainsed and didfficult to break down. Hull won 1-0 at QPR then only conceded a goal late on at home to Stoke having played the majority of the game with ten men. Of course QPR and Stoke are not going to be the most prolific of goal-scorers in the league, but then again neither are Aston Villa

I then saw that Under 2.5 goals was 1/2, so much for that, and began to search for alternatives on the same theme. The draw is certainly a very possible outcome at a best priced 23/10 with Coral, but with confidence that it will be tight and low-scoring quite high i liked the look of combinations of:

1-1 correct score 6-1 with BetVictor

no goalscorer (0-0 and protection if there is an own goal)  15/2 Betfair Sportsbook which beats the 13/2 best available on 0-0
