Highlights of the upcoming weeked are the Merseyside and North London Derbies. Here’s a look at our best bets of the Premier League week

Recommendations

Liverpool v Everton over 3.5 goals 31/20 BetVictor

West Bromwich Albion v Burnley No Goalscorer 8/1 Skybet

Chelsea v Aston Villa: Aston Villa +2 at 5/4 Ladbrokes

Liverpool v Everton

Disappointing starts for both Merseyside clubs, making this an even more important game for both than normal. Liverpool, struggling without Suarez and temporarily Sturridge, are bedding in a lot of new players whilst Everton are lacking the defensive solidity that was a trademark last season, conceding no less than 13 league goals in the first five games of the season.

Liverpool have lost only one of their last 15 Merseyside derbies in the Barclays Premier League whilst Everton have scored only five goals in their last 12 Premier League games at Anfield. Instinctively  I want to side with Liverpool, but odds-on prices don’t look to be great value. Iprefer to look at the goals market, where over 2.5 goals is a short 4/7. Over 3.5 goals looks eminently possible and 31/20 with BetVictor attractive for a game with two struggling defences, compared to the standards of recent seasons.

West Bromwich Albion v Burnley

Towards the bottom of the table Burnley have scored one goal all season but have drawn their last three games. Aware of their limitations in budget and style, they are difficult to beat. West Brom have only scored 3 goals in 5 games, and won for the first time this season last weekend

This is crying out to be a low scoring game on Sunday, and indeed under 2.5 goals is a strong favourite. I think we can get value on any of

- the draw at 12-5 12/5 BetVictor

- 1-1 correct score 13/2 BetVictor

- No goalscorer at 8/1 Skybet (the advantage here over 0-0 is that you have the own goal on your side in a 1-0)

take your pick, i like No Goalscorer at the price

Chelsea v Aston Villa

We seem to be on the right side of Villa, backing them to win at Anfield and to lose at home to Arsenal, though the illness that took its toll on the matchday squad last weekend was in our favour.

As discussed in previous weeks, i like to be with Villa away from home, playing on the counter especially if Ron Vlaar is playing to marshall the defence and keep things tight. Of course doing so at Chelsea is quite a task, and their odds to win are 16/1. This is probably a step too far given Chelsea’s form, home record and Diego Costa’s goals, but the Handicap markets do offer us some genorosity because we can get Aston Villa +2 at 5/4 with Ladbrokes.

Assuming the squad is back to full strength, with it being so tactically adept away from home, this looks an interesting price
