The second week of the new Premier League season

Leicester v Wolves

Leicester fell behind early at Manchester United but fought back well and look an exciting young team remoulded by Puel into a more possession based side, but one that will require patience from supporters and the club itself without Mahrez removing a lot of their creativity

Wolves drew on their first game back in the top flight, coming from behind twice against ten men Everton. In Neves and Jota they in particular look to have two players who belong at this level

For a promoted side with this talent against one still finding its feet in a new style, the 3/1 offered about an away win by Bet365 is attractive.

Everton v Southampton

Everton under Silva are going to be a more exciting side this season, with plenty of new recruits and more pace in the side. Their 10 man draw at Wolves was creditable

Southampton drew their first game 0-0 at home to Burnley. With 37 goals in 38 league games last season it could well be that goal-scoring is an issue this season and the 5/4 about the home win here is very attractive

Cardiff v Newcastle United

Cardiff really struggled in losing 2-0 at Bournemouth and for a team that hasn’t had much summer recruitment it could be a very tough season back in the premier league. Newcastle lost 2-1 at home to Tottenham but put in a creditable performance. I like the 15/8 about the away win here very much. Benitez had organised Newcastle into an effective counter-attacking force in the second half of last season
