Two weeks of the Premier League season to go, and battles for top two, top four and European places continue. At the other end of the table one more relegation place is to be decided

Sunderland v Leicester City

Both teams have pulled out of the bottom three in the last month. Sunderland have two successive wins whilst Leicester are transformed with six wins out of seven. Both are one win away from safety, and a point might be enough as that would require Hull to win their last two games against Tottenham and Manchester United to overhaul them. Whether Leicester change their approach, involving wing-backs and attacking, for this game where the safety line is so close is an interesting one. At the other end of the table the impact of loan signing Robert Huth and return to fitness of goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has been to improve dramatically the goals against column

Leicester are favourites for this game, amazingly. That can’t be value but the Huth/Schmeichel impact together with Sudnerland’s still patchy form in front of goal suggests that the draw at 9/4 with Betfair Sportsbook, the outsider of the three outcomes in the 1-2-x markets should be supported. The fact that a point each works wonders for both teams survival chances plays to this too

Burnley v Stoke

Burnley’s relegation was confirmed despite a win at Hull, in which they scored their first goal in over ten hours of league play, speaking to the essential problem that sees them drop out of the division. Stoke are a point away from securing a top ten spot for this season and despite some inconsistency thats more progress for Mark Hughes’ side.

Stoke are 7/4 to win this game with BetVictor, modest favourites and to my mind thats a good price to beat a relegated team. Burnley may wish to throw off the shackles and throw caution to the wind but such a view assumes they are capable of doing so and if they do move away from their strengths which all season have been solidity and defensive organisation, that will give Stoke opportunities to win this game

West Ham v Everton

The two sides sit 10th and 11th in the table seperated by three points. West Ham have done just enough in the second half of the season to maintain their position, missing goals from key players and not impressing to the extent they did in the first half of the season. Everton have disappointed, short of a spell of form that ended in the home defeat to Snderland last weekend.

Whilst Everton wasted a lot of chances this game and were hit by two unfortunate goals, it is surprising to see them installed as favourites for this game even allowing for West Ham’s lack of goalscoring options. I far prefer the idea that this could be a low scoring draw and the draw is priced at 12/5 with BetVictor
