The Premier League resumes after the International break, and the end of the Transfer window. Here’s our best bets for the weekend’s games….

Aston Villa 21/2 Draw no Bet versus Liverpool with BetVictor

Arsenal and Manchester Cty to draw, 19/10 BetVictor

Stoke City 23/20 versus Leicester City with BetVictor

Liverpool v Aston Villa.

Aston Villa are 21/2 Draw No bet to win this game with BetVictor. This of course is deeply contrarian but I can’t ignore the value on offer. Villa have had a decent start to the season with two wins and a draw against non top six opposition. They have conceded one goal, and will be well marshalled in any game they are led by the excellent Ron Vlaar.

I prefer to back them away from home because they set up so well as a counter-attacking team with the pace of Agbonlahor and Weimann up front

Of course they should be underdogs at Liverpool, even without Sturridge they are a formidable outfit at home.

I just question odds of 1/4 the home win 5/1 the draw 12/1 away win. The value is with Villa here and getting over 10/1 draw no bet attractive

Stoke City v Leicester City

Leicester have had a very respectable start to the season with draws at home to Everton and Arsenal but face a tough task against Stoke, one of the toughest places to go in the league.  Only two teams, Liverpool and Chelsea, have scored more than once at the Britannia stadium in over a year

Leicester will set up to counter-attack possibly with one up front supported by two wide players but will be under pressure from a Stoke team who lost their opening home match against Aston Villa but have hit form since, notably in a tactically adept win at Manchester City last time out

I had Stoke as odds-on to win this game, yet BetVictor offer us 23/20 on the home side to win the game

Arsenal v Manchester City

Neither team has started the season as well as might have been expected, Arsenal have drawn successive away games and Manchester City were turned over at home by Stoke. Manchester City have been installed as 6/4 favourites for the game despite Arsene Wenger’s side being unbeaten in 19 Premier League games at the Emirates Stadium and they have won their last four in a row there. Set against that Manchester City have not lost two consecutive league games since October 2010. Both teams have match-winners, and a close game is ensured i would think

I feel the 19/10 BetVictor offer on the draw is attractive
