Arsenal v Leicester City

After their fabulous 3-1 victory over Manchester City last weekend Leicester, remarkably went favourites to win the title with 13 games to go and even after Arsenal’s away victory the next day are still five points clear at the top of the table, having lost only two games all season and in the last two months adding defensive organisation to constant attacking threat primarily on the counter-attack

With Sanchez back fit, Arsenal will be looking to close the gap to two point here in what should be another excellent game. I do think in areas Leicester match up well though, in midfield where Drinkwater and Kante should do well against Flamini and up front where Vardy’s pace will scare the Arsenal centre-backs.

Finally, after a season where the odds haven’t really reflected Leicester’s results (they were 11/2 to win in Manchester last weekend) the Leicester individual game prices are approaching fair value. 7/2 away at Arsenal for example for Sunday, but I still like the 11/10 Leicester +1 on the handicap for a team that whilst it won’t have a lot of possession will create chances all game

Manchester City v Tottenham Hotspur

Although it was surprising to see City’s wealth of attacking options kept so quiet by Leicester the main problems for City in trying to regain the title are at the back, where Vincent Kompany cannot return soon enough, with Otamendi and De Michelis performing inconsistently. They face a tough challenge against a Spurs team now second, who have won six on the bounce in all competitions and is very solid defensively. In Eriksen, Alli and Kane amongst others they possess the firepower to punish any defensive frailties.

Outright prices for this game have City a shade of odds against at 21/20 and Spurs 27/10. The Spurs price is tempting but the recency bias in the City price has given a rare opportunity to back them at odds against at home for a Premier League game. All eyes on that defence though….

Crystal Palace v Watford

Meanwhile on Saturday in midtable, Palace host Watford. 2016 has been difficult so far for Palace, with five successive defeats before last weekend’s draw at Swansea which saw them gain a valuable point. A major problem at the moment is key injuries. Bolasie is a major loss, recently joined by MacArthur and Puncheon and the lack of reliable options up front is an issue

Watford meanwhile lost at Spurs last weekend, setting up 4-5-1 for the first part of the game with Deeney on the bench. That’s asking a lot of Ighalo and I’d assume they’d go back to the usual tactics for this game and look for a win against vulnerable hosts.

Watford are 13/5 with BetVictor, a big price for this match-up at the current time
