The Premier League is back this weekend, and here we preview the best of the betting opportunities across the ten games

Recommendations

Everton to win at Leicester City 29-20 BetVictor

Stoke City to beat Aston Villa at 11-10 William Hill

Manchester United (-1 Handicap) to beat Swansea City at 11-10 SkyBet

Sunderland to win at West Brom 13-10 BetVictor

Leicester City v Everton

Promoted Leicester City face a tough start in the top flight, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United to play in the first six games. Things don’t start simply either with Roberto Martinez’s side off the back of a top six finish last season, with Lukaku returning this and Everton are a good price here at 29/20 with BetVictor. Leicester will be competitive this season, but i don’t think they will be good enough to stop us backing Everton here

Stoke City v Aston Villa

Stoke have an enviable home record at the Britannia stadium, finished in the top ten last season and have strengthened again in the summer most notably with the capture of Bojan Krkic and face an Aston Villa side in a tricky situation. Owner Randy Lerner is trying to sell the club and Lambert’s team strengthening in the summer has been understandably muted, consisting mainly of veterans. Stoke can be backed at 11/10 with William Hill for this game

Manchester United v Swansea City

All the signs from pre-season are that Van Gaal will engender a quick turnaround in United’s fortunes after the difficulties of last year. Although Van Persie will miss this game, the combination of Mata and Rooney as part of a front three should be prolific this season, and midfield has been strengthened

Swansea are in transition with Michu gone and Bony possibly to follow. Going forward, much will depend on whether Gomis the new arrival from Lyon settles. Defensively Vorm and Ben Davies are important departures. It could be a tough season

I expect United to hit the ground running this season, and quotes of 11/10 Manchester United -1 goal on handicaps with SkyBet should be supported here

West Brom v Sunderland

Alan Irvine was an unexpected appointment as West Brom manager and optimism is not high this season in markets, with WBA amongst the favourites for relegation. They take last season’s squad, with the addition of Joleon Lescott into this season. Sunderland have had a more settled summer, and showed excellent form towards the end of last season. The likes of Rodwell, Jordi Gomez and Bridcutt are encouraging signings, and Sunderland are a big price at 13/5 with BetVictor to open their season with a win
