League One has enjoyed it’s fair share of drama this term. Portsmouth have seen a bit too much of it occurring off-pitch, and their patched up squad faces Colchester at Fratton Park on Saturday. Who will claim the points in the basement battle?
Match: Portsmouth v Colchester
Betting tip: Under 2.5 goals
Best Odds: 1.95 with Pinnacle
Kick Off: 15:00 02/02/2013 (GMT)
The reason these two teams are battling League One relegation is simple. They do not score enough goals. While their over and under figures do not show strong trends over the season, this is mainly down to their opposition getting a few, rather than them troubling the scorers themselves. The ever changing Portsmouth squad have mustered three goals in their last seven games, coinciding with the loss of leading striker Izale McLeod. Colchester are on a similar run, scoring just four in the last eight. The highest scorer currently among either squad, Ibhre, has just five for the season. Neither defence is particularly crash hot, but Pompey did manage to draft in some defenders in January, despite their recent turmoil and it is the toothless attacks that make the Unders price look decent value.
