David Vamplew, who won the PokerStars European Poker Tour event in London just the other day, has completed an impressive double, landing the UK and Ireland Poker Tour “Champion of Champions” title.
“Vampy”, from Fife in Scotland, beat the eight UKIPT season one tournament winners, including the likes of Padraig Parkinson, to land his second tournament in as many days, earning himself a prize package which includes entry to every UKIPT tournament in season two, including the EPT London Grand Final. “After yesterday, it’s the icing on the cake”, said the young Scotsman.
The PokerStars UKIPT season two schedule was released last week and it kicks off in Ireland, on December 2nd, with a €1,000 + €100 No Limit Hold’em tournament at the Radisson Hotel, Galway. Following the UKIPT Galway event is the Nottingham event, at the fantastic Dusk Till Dawn card room, with a £500 + £60 tournament.
Two new venues have been added to the tour for the coming season; Cork and Newcastle. The latter will be hosted by Aspers Casino and is a £500 + £50 buy-in event capped at 400 players, while the venue for UKIPT Cork has yet to be confirmed. The buy in will be €500 + €60.
The Spanish Poker Tour hit Valencia earlier this week, with three Dutch players besting the 195 strong field. Tim van der Zwet placed third, with Rene van Damme losing out at the heads up stage to Koen Berendsen, who banked €61,200 for his efforts.
The SPT is now into its third series and is growing in popularity with each event. Sevilla is the next stop on the SPT, kicking off on November 5th. Qualifiers are available at Everest Poker.
