High Stakes Poker - Hansen and Negreanu
When it comes to poker tournaments, Gus Hansen is one of the world’s most feared players, particularly at No Limit Hold’em. In recent years though, he has really struggled with online high stakes cash games. He ended 2009 almost $6 million down and is regarded by many in the poker community as something of a high stakes fish.

Findpokerpal.com and www.pokerpal.org are great web sites on which you can find out where you local games of poker are being played, meet new players – and beat them.

Playing Poker when Short Stacked
Being short-stacked is a position that no poker player likes to find themselves in. You have to acknowledge that you are getting towards the end of your participation in a game and either hang on in for as long as you can, or take a chance with a shove. Neither option is wrong, but when it comes to choosing which hand you want to be all-in on, you need to be sure you are aware of all the facts.

Moving From Live to Online Poker
If you’re looking to make the switch from live to internet poker, be sure to realise there are some major differences between the two. You might be a winning poker player at your local casino, but dipping your toe into the online poker waters for the first time requires adjustment.

Chips Stacks in Tournaments
When playing in a No Limit Hold’em poker tournament, it is important to keep an eye on your fellow players in order to absorb as much information as possible, which will help make your decisions easier. Paying attention to your rivals, the cards they play and their betting patterns is not the only useful source of information though.

Poker Table Position Strategies
Experienced students of poker strategy will be fully aware of the disciplines required to take advantage of good positions at the poker table. However it is an area that not many beginners are familiar with and many terms may be alien to them, leaving them at a disadvantage in both ring and tournament play. This is something that it is crucial that novices learn and also seek to take advantage of if they see poor positional play from other players.
