The ATP tournament in Halle hasn’t seen many interesting matches so far, but that should change today with guys like Philipp Kohlschreiber and Milos Raonic in action.

Selection: Philipp Kohlschreiber (-5 games)

Best Odds: 1.98 @ Pinnacle

The local favorite will be up against Carlos Berlocq, who is one of those players that are not too happy about the current change of surfaces. After all, the Argentinian plays his best tennis on slower clay courts, which is something that he simply is not going to get today in Germany, as the courts in Halle are indeed very quick.

On the other hand, Philipp Kohlschreiber is a guy that usually thrives in such conditions, especially when it comes to playing in Germany. His record in this particular event is incredibly good, which only adds to the case of him doing well today – and it would be a huge shock to everyone if he would actually go on to struggle against Berlocq. Of course, the Argentinian managed to win the most recent clash between the two, but that match took place on a slow clay court in Argentina, not on a quick grass court in Germany.

And since Berlocq has apparently gone off the boil a little bit since that match, it even seems that the German should be able to cover the games handicap today. One set might be a bit tight, but the local hero should get a firm grip on the match at some point – likely sooner rather than later – and finish things off without a lot of trouble. Five games is not a huge handicap with all the aforementioned factors taken into consideration – and this particular selection should therefore be fairly obvious.
