This weekend sees two of the newly promoted teams go head to head at Carrow Road. Both sides have made encouraging starts to their campaigns, but will be acutely aware that there is a long way to go. Can either team win all 3 points in this one, and cement a place into the top half of the table?
Both teams to Score (Bet 365 1.73)
QPR have won 3 of their 6 away games, beating Everton, Wolves and just last week, Stoke. Those are very encouraging results, and the trip to Norwich will not intimidate Rangers at all. The odds of 3.6 with Victor Chandler are tempting, it would not represent a shock if Neil Warnock and his men left with all 3 points after their previous exploits away from home.
At a best price 5/4 with Ladbrokes, Norwich do not look great value. They have beaten Sunderland and Swansea at home, but failed to win on 4 other occasions, so 5/4 is a tough price to justify.
Goals look extremely likely in this one. Norwich have failed to keep any clean sheets this season, and QPR have conceded 13 goals in 6 away games. The cumulative total of goals scored during the last three fixtures involving these clubs is 28 – an average of over 4.5.
The approach of both sides is also likely to be positive. Norwich are the home team, so the onus is on them to come forward, but they have been doing that all season anyway, bagging 10 goals at Carrow Road. Rangers can also be relied upon to take a positive approach. This game will certainly be seen as ‘winnable’ by the away team, and their form thus far away from Loftus Road will give them all the belief they need to attack with purpose.
The likelihood of an enthralling, end to end tussle is high, so take the 1.73 that Bet365 are offering on both teams to score. Neither defence are particularly strong, so clean sheets would seem unlikely. William Hill also go 3.4 for Over 3.5 goals and that is also worthy of consideration.
