Top meets bottom in the Norwegian Tippeligaen on Sunday July 8th, when leaders Stromsgodset travel to the basement club, Stabaek. 22 points separate the clubs but will the early pace setters extend their lead or will the underdogs spring a surprise?
Stromsgodset win 1.91 at Coral
Stabaek are rock bottom of the Tippeligaen, thanks to 10 defeats in their opening 13 games – in the midst of this terrible run is a string of 9 consecutive defeats. The club managed just 3 goals in their opening 10 games, so it is not difficult to see where their problems lie. After their 13 fixtures thus far, their goal difference stands at a rather discouraging -19. There was recent cause for optimism however, with a resounding win against Lillestrom – although their form is barely any better, and they sit just one place better off than Stabaek.
Stromsgodset, in contrast, sit on top of the pile, having recorded 9 wins from their 13 games this campaign. They have found the back of the net at least once in every single League game, and have been beaten just twice. Last season, they struggled on the road, winning just once. This term however, they have already recorded 3 wins from their 6 away games, and look set to do so again against a fragile Stabaek side. Bookmakers clearly feel Stromsgodset are not good travellers, as any price around evens or just below seems far too big.
Stabaek v Stromsgodset Tip
Back the away side to bag another 3 points at struggling Stabaek. Although form from the hosts has picked up slightly, a price of 1.91 (with Coral) about the visitors looks generous to say the least.
