After five weeks of the season the LA Rams and Kansas City Chiefs have unbeaten 5-0 records and both feature in this week’s column.
Oakland Raiders v Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks travel down the West Coast to face the 1-4 Raiders who traded their star player in the off-season and running game apart are dysfunctional on offense and lack talent on defense. They lost 26-10 at the LA Chargers last weekend. The Seahawks are rebuilding, the building blocks of their famous defense have left and the team will not be in contention this season in a division with the LA Rams. However they ran the Rams close last weekend losing 33-31 and significantly appear to be finding an identity in their running game, with over 200 yards rushing last weekend behind a revamped offensive line
The Seahawks are 3 point favourites at 10/11 with Skybet and i think they will win and cover
Denver Broncos v LA Rams
Denver are a curates egg of a team, with a 2-3 record and having won both of their games at altitude but lost all three away, they have now only won one of their last sixteen games away from Colorado. They do have a considerable home advantage though, at altitude.
The Rams are the sort of team that will enjoy the rarified atmosphere with a big play well rounded offense but two key components of that Cooks and Kupp at wide receiver left the game concussed last weekend in Seattle. That said LA should be favourites but the Broncos getting seven points at home is a rarity and they are a value play at +7 at 10/11 with SkyBet.
New England Patriots v Kansas City Chiefs, Sunday Night football
The other unbeaten team face a tough task on the East coast on Sunday night and are actually +3.5 on the point spread. No team yet has come close to stopping the Chiefs offense, all powe speed and trickery and this disguises that the defense is very leaky. Brady will be in position to captialise on that in a way that the Blake Bortles quarterbacked Jags weren’t last weekend and Brady is getting weapons back like Edelman
I think the Patriots will win and cover -3.5 and hand the Chiefs their first lost of the season
