St Louis Rams at Green Bay Packers

The 2-2 Rams travel to Lambeau Feld to face the 4-0 Packers as 9 point underdogs on the point spread. This is a big spread to cover even for a team as talented as the Packers. St Louis has one of the best defenses in the league, a completely revamped offensive line and in Todd Gurley, the first running back drafted in this year’s draft, a potential cornerstone of a franchise who have underperformed for a number of years but who are finally achieving competitiveness with their drafted talent. They are going to be a tough team to beat in the coming seasons.

Washington Redskins at Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons are off to a storming start, especially on offense where Julio Jones is performing as the best wide receiver in the league and Devonta Freeman has rushed for six touchdowns in two weeks. They are 7.5 point favourites to beat the Redskins, who i like to cover here. The 2-2 Redskins are themselves rebuilding but have a power running game that will challenge the Falcons and help control the clock. They are stout on defense, particularly in the front seven and Ilike them to keep this game at least close.

New England Patriots at Dallas Cowboys

The 3-0 Patriots come off their bye week ahead head to injury hit Dallas as 8.5 point favourites. This is a big spread for a road team against decvent opposition. Dallas is 2-2 and struggling without both Romo and Bryant but has significant defensive reinforcement this week with the return of star pass rusher Greg Hardy and middle linebacker Rolando McClain.

Typically the time to back Dallas is when as underdogs, they tend to be overbet by the public when favoured. It is extremely rare to see them as 8.5 point home underdogs and whilst that reflectas their injury situation and the points scoring potential across from them with rady/Gronkowski, Edleman and Lewis starting the season in blistering form I expect Dallas to cover here, which feels extremely contrarian but i can’t ignore the point spread on offer.
