It has been a dramatic start to the NFL season and whilst some of the names sitting with 2-0 records are not a surprise (the Rams and the Jaguars) the NFC South leading Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the surprise package of the fledgling season.
Here are the best of the betting opportunities for week three
LA Chargers at LA Rams
After a huge off-season recruitment drive, and with some of the best coaching in the league the Rams were one of the pre-season Super-bowl favourites and the first two weeks of the season have nothing to dispel that as the y have beaten the Raiders and Cardinals by 20 and 34 points respectively.
What makes this game interesting from a point spread perspective is the firepower that the LA Chargers themselves have in the running and passing game to potentially keep it closer than the +7 implies. Probably the Rams have the advantage in coaching and of course they are at home but in what should be a high scoring match getting a seven point start at 10/11 with Skybet appeals
Pittsburgh Steelers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
This should be another high scoring match. The Buccaneers have a slew of high powered receiving options and back up QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is playing well and the Bucs are an exciting team. The Steelers are having to do with the holding out Le-Veon Bell but have plenty of offensive potential too and indeed Roethlisberger against the Chiefs last weekend played well in a shoot-out.
The line though that has Tampa Bay the 2.5 point home underdogs looks a bit stale. The Bucs are in storming form, the Steelers defense is conceding point and it should be that the favourite here is wrong. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers +2.5 at 10/11 with Skybet is the bet.
Cincinnati Bengals at Carolina Panthers
The Bengals may have temporarily lost emerging star running back Joe Mixon to injury but are a developing team, with an under-rated defense and a passing game under a new offensive coordinator that is performing well with lots of big play potential
The Panthers at home have weapons themselves, Chrstian McCaffrey is turning into one of the league’s workhorse backs and Newton is difficult to stop but this should be a very close game where the Bengals are capable of going toe to toe with the hosts and can be backed getting a +3.5 point start with SkyBet.
