The best of the week’s bets in the second weekend of the new NFL Season

Dallas Cowboys +5 at the Philadelphia Eagles 20/21 Bet365

San Diego Chargers (1-0) at Cincinnati Bengals (1-0):

The Bengals are 16-3-1 in their last 20 games that have kicked off at 1 p.m. (9-1-1 at home) and looked mightily impressive in their 33-13 win at Oakland last weekend. A play off team last year, they have a strong offensive line, a very good running game and lots of attacking options. The Raiders double teamed star receiver AJ Green and let tight end Tyler Eifert loose. He responded with with nine catches for 104 yards and two touchdowns in the win. Their achilles heel in big games has been quarterback Andy Dalton, but the offense is so loaded that as long as he is protected he should have an excellent year

The Chargers beat Detroit first game up and are 3 point underdogs to follow up in Cincinnati, but don’t think they are the all round team the Bengals are and expect the Bengals to cover the three point spread at 9/10 with BetVictor

Dallas Cowbys (1-0) at Philadelphia Eagles (0-1):

A big NFC East match-up for week two with the two teams likely to contest the divisional title at the end of the regular season. Dallas were fortunate to beat the Giants , overcoming three turnovers to score in the winning touchdown in the last seconds after a time management blunder by the Giants a minute earlier

Now they have to go to the Eagles without Dez Bryant and their best young pass-rusher Randy Gregory. They will rely on the excellent offensive line, a more conservative offense and a much improved defense to stay competitive until Bryant returns

The Eagles fell substantially behind the Falcons on Monday night football and just failed to comeback, losing 26-24. Having started the season rustily, new Quarterback Sam Bradford went 21 of 25 for 219 yards in the second half and I would expect them to improve into the second week too.

However the Eagles have been installed as 5 point favourites for what should be a very close game. I like the Cowboys to cover at 20/21 with Bet365

Seattle Seahawks (0-1) at Green Bay Packers (1-0)

A marquee match-up for week two, this game is a repeat of last season’s NFC Championship game but this time in Green Bay. The Packers have been stuck playing the Seahawks in Seattle for the past three years, where they’re 0-3 but it could be a different story at home

Aaron Rodgers was impressive in their opening day win in Chicago. The running game is good, the offensive line protects him well and combinations of Cobb, Jones and Adams provide plenty of threats on the outside

Seattle, last year’s losing Super-bowl team, retain their identity of punishing defense and the talents of Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson providing just enough offense. Trading for star Tight End Jimmy Graham in the off-season is an attempt to make the offense less one-dimensional. Against this though the offensive line is in flux, a rebuilding phase, and this was seen in overtime in the week one loss to the Rams in St Louis when they needed to run a yard on 4th and 1 and failed to get it, ending the game

I like the Packers -3.5 points at 20/21 with Ladbrokes to finally turn the tables over the Seahawks
