The start of the new season and the best of the week’s betting opportunities highlighted below

Cincinnati Bengals at Indianapolis Colts

Two teams that disappointed last season meet. For the Colts Andrew Luck is back at quarterback after missing a season, with a revamped offensive line to protect him. There are likely to still be problems on defense especially at cornerback
This could be a high scoring game as the Bengals offensive strength looks to be their passing game. With the Bengals front seven on defense looking strong, Luck may be under pressure and the Bengals +3 at 10/11 with Skybet appeals. I think they are likely to be the better team this season

Dallas Cowboys at Carolina Panthers

The Panthers will rely on second year running back Christian McCaffery to be their workhorse and at home should be favoured -3 at 10/11 to beat a Cowboys side that might struggle offensively in the passing game, and will have to really work to avoid being one dimensional and reliant on the running game and Ezekiel Elliott. The Panthers are always solid defensively and the Cowboys likelyto be much improved in that area. This could be relatively low-scoring

LA Rams at Oakland Raiders

After a busy off-season of trades the LA Rams in Goff’s third season and second under head coach Sean McVey are set up to win now and are favoured at -3 at 10/11 to start off the season by covering the handicap at the Oakland Raiders against their returning head coach Jon Gruden. Top to bottom the Rams look to have the stronger roster, well coached and should win outright too
