Four teams remain in the hunt to win Superbowl 49 and the two match ups this weekend feature probably the best four quarterbacks in the current game, the best coach in the game and the reigning champions. A look at both games below:

A compelling Divisional Round is over and the two conference games this weekend promise more of the same.

In the NFC Likely MVP Aaron Rodgers playing through injury trying to beat the best defense seen in the NFL for over a decade and the regning superbowl champions.

The AFC matchup sees the Colts and Andrew Luck travel to New England to pit their wits against Bill Belicheck and Tom Brady after their signature win at the Broncos last Sunday

Indianapolis Colts at New England Patriots

The Colts win in Denver was the upset of last weekend. We knew Andrew Luck was special but he was able to perform because he received great protection in Denver; the Broncos didn’t have a single hit on him.  The Colts’ defense has also played its best in the playoffs, although clearly helped this past weekend by the troubles experienced by Peyton Manning

The last two times Indianapolis has played in  Foxboro will be talked about both games were within one score in the fourth quarter before the Patriots pulled away to win and cover both times.

The Patriots are seven point favourites for the game after their thrilling 35-31 win over the Ravens featuring brilliant coaching, trick plays and the usual Tom Brady masterclass.  The Patriots’ defense though has to improve a lot after facing Baltimore. They struggled up front and it would not be surprising to see the Colts run the ball more this week.

Indianapolis will need Luck’s supperting cast to come to the party again, this is not a game where ck will carry them to victory on their own. Luck’s mobility and movement in the pocket is a big asset there, but his offensive line playing outstandingly well is vital too

New England should win, but it could be close and high scoring. A quote of +/- 53.5 points suggests as much. The value here is Indianapolis +7, as i would be surprised if New Engalnd won by more than a score against Andrew Luck

Green Bay Packers at Seattle Seahawks

Aaron Rodgers has helped win two massive games since leaving Week 17 with a calf injury and in the win against Dallas threw for over 300 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions on one leg, with little of the mobility that makes him so dangerous.

Winning in Seattle will be another matter, especially if the injury is much the same as it was. The Seahawks’ defensive line is likely to put much more pressure on Rodgers than Dallas’s did.  Seattle can get creative with their linebackers too and send waves of pressure at Rodgers if they are confident he’s not mobile.

On the other side of the ball Russell  Wilson was near-perfect against Carolina and the offense has a great running game that keeps them competitive even without much big play potential on the outside

Beating the Seattle defense would be the achievement of Rodgers’ career and the odds-setters do not expect him to do it. Green Bay are 7.5 point underdogs though and again i will go for this being closer than a two score game. If the indications are that Rodgers is a bit heathier all well and good, an under-rated offensive line needs to protect him, they need to run big bruiser Eddie Lacy often and hope for the occasional big play to the likes of Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb
