Match Odds Betting Preview
Manchester United have continued to tighten their grip on the Premier League title, and have won twelve of their last fourteen in the League. The tie termed an “acid test” by Sir Alex Ferguson, the Champions League clash with Real Madrid, is at the half way stage, with United securing a 1-1 draw in Spain. Talk of the “treble” has already started, and with the Red Devils moving into top gear at exactly the right time, the odds of them pulling it off are coming down all the time. The Old Trafford boss has already stated changes will be made to the team that travelled to Madrid – but stressed the game will not be taken lightly.
Reading have enjoyed a decent run since Boxing day last year. FA Cup wins boosted some decent League form (four wins, two draws and two defeats) and while they are genuine long shots heading to Old Trafford, they have nothing to lose, and are not short of confidence. Adam Le Fondre has been in the goals of late and should start, but Jimmy Kebe, scorer of both goals in the recent win versus Sunderland, is a doubt.
There might be some value to be had in the Anytime goalscorer market with so much doubt surrounding the possible line ups. Le Fondre and Hunt of Reading, and Cleverley and Anderson of United are all over 5.0 to score at anytime, with Nemanja Vidic up at 10.0. The Layers are all predicting goals, and are odds-on that the game will see four or more (Over 3.5).
The handicaps also throw up some interesting prices. Pinnacle offer 2.2 on Reading with a +1.5 goal start. The same firm are a best price about United making up a -1.5 goal start at 1.75. For some bigger prices, how about a Javier Hernandez hat-trick at 23.0 with Blue Square, Alternatively a repeat of the 4-3 scoreline that these two served up in the recent League match can be backed at 101.0 with most firms.
