Bet: Manchester City -1.5 Goals
Odds: Pinnacle Sports 1.90
After investing massively in both promising and established players, Manchester city expected to win the title for a second year in a row, but were denied by their local rivals. During the season break no major transfers were performed and except for Stevan Jovetic who arrived from Fiorentina, they have pretty much the same starting formation. There are rumors that Jesus Navas, Alvaro Negredo and Fernandinho will arrive in the foreseeable future, but for the time being, Manchester City will have to do without them.
They don’t have any injury concerns except for Matija Nastasic who has to shake away an ankle injury but is unlikely to start tonight. While he will begin the match on the bench, the visiting team will also be without Loic Remy and Ryan Taylor, as both of them are injured. The former was transferred from Queens Park Rangers but it will take a while until he will get the chance to prove his worth. Furthermore, Jonas Gutierrez is doubtful and he will need to take a fitness test to find out whether he is fit to play.
Both teams have a lot to prove to their fans after disappointing in 2012, but Manchester City has a better chance to start on the right foot. They’ve won nine of the last 10 head to head games, often by two goals or more which makes it worthwhile to take the odds of 1.9 the for City to cover the 1.5 goals spread with Pinnacle Sports.
