There’s a full programme of fixtures in League One and League Two on Tuesday night, as we near the business end of the season. Things are looking especially tight at both ends of the table in League One and for our midweek lower league football accumulator bet, we fancy a hat-trick of draws in the third tier – including Harry Maguire’s Sheffield United to slip up at Crewe. A £10 bet with Pinnacle at the current prices would pay an enormous £415.41 – they draw and you score!
1 – Crewe Alexandra vs Sheffield United
The first selection in our midweek football accumulator tip for Tuesday March 12th is Crewe to draw with high flying Sheffield United. The Blades have been in terrific form away from of late (unbeaten in eight matches away from Bramall Lane) but with recent injuries to Jonathon Forte and Jamie Murphy (who may play a part on Tuesday night, but are unlikely to feature for the whole game) they have looked a little toothless up front, with just three goals from their last four matches, including a pair of goalless draws. More generally speaking, only Notts County have drawn more matches in the division than United this season.
Crewe are a tidy footballing side and held Sheffield United to a 3-3 draw at Bramall Lane earlier in the season. I don’t expect Tuesday’s match to be quite so high-octane, but the Alex have failed to score in just one of their last seventeen League One matches and as tight as the Blades defence may be at present, I can envisage them finding the back of the net in this game. With United struggling for goals I can’t imagine them scoring more than once and 1-1 looks a likely scoreline. At a current best price of 3.48 with Pinnacle, I think the draw looks like a great value play.
2 – Bury vs Scunthorpe
Both of these sides are struggling at the wrong end of the League One table, with Kevin Blackwell’s Bury currently propping up the division. The Shakers might have home advantage for this particular tie, but that may not be much help at all given that they have failed to score in almost half of their home games so far this league campaign, and are the lowest scoring home team in the league, with 14 goals from 17 games.
Scunthorpe are only two points clear of the drop zone at present and have similar goal scoring problems to Bury – but in reverse. Only Colchester have scored fewer goals on the road in League One this term, with Scunny finding the net just 16 times in 18 away games, while they have won just one away match in League One from their last seven attempts. For me, this has ‘low scoring draw’ written all over it and the 3.45 on offer with Pinnacle just now could be buying money.
3 – Walsall vs Tranmere Rovers
To round off our midweek football accumulator bet we travel to the Midlands, where an in-form Walsall side play host to a Tranmere Rovers outfit that is increasingly looking as though the proverbial bubble has burst. They could do no wrong earlier this season, but a run of just two wins in eight has seen the men from the Wirral surrender their stranglehold at the top of League One and plummet to just fourth.
By contrast, Walsall have lost just once in eight, but three of those matches were against top six sides and two ended level, with the other being settled by a single goal. All of Tranmere’s last three matches also finished either level or were settled by the odd goal, and after 37 games each Rovers have scored just one league goal more than the Saddlers. I can see this being a tight affair and I am happy to take the 3.46 on offer with Pinnacle at the moment.
Pinnacle are offering by far the best odds about our selection of three draws and at the current prices, a £20 bet would return a whopping £830.82. We highly recommend that you use these guys to place your midweek football accumulator bets.
