We’ve cast an eye over the coming weekend’s lower league football markets in search of early value, and we’ve come up with three selections that simply must go into everyone’s weekend football accumulator bets. Backing all three in a treble at the current prices with Pinnacle pays odds of 6.67, meaning a £20 stake would return a healthy £133.49.
1 – Nottingham Forest vs Birmingham
Forest have started the season brightly enough, with two home wins and two draws on the road. Although it’s obviously still early days, that’s promotion form, something that opponents Birmingham can only dream of at present; they managed just one point from their opening three matches, before finally registering a win this weekend – 1-0 against Peterborough (who have yet to collect a single point).
When looking at the contrasting form of the two sides, it’s fair to suggest that Forest’s current best price of 2.24 (Pinnacle) looks a generous one, and with that in mind, they should go into your weekend football accumulator.
2 – Sheffield United vs Bury
The Blades have started their season in solid fashion, with two wins from two at home and three 1-1 draws on the road. They have yet to fully break into their stride, but despite this, have started the season in promotion winning form. Bury on the other hand, have started woefully, with just two points from a possible 15.
Sheffield United beat Bury 4-0 in this fixture last season and even though they will likely be without Doyle and Flynn through suspension, they will have more than enough to see off the Shakers. At a best price of 1.57 (Bet365), they look to be absolute bankers for our weekend football accumulator bets.
3 – Shrewsbury vs Scunthorpe United
The Shrews may be lying in 17th in the League One table, but their start to life in League One has been a tricky one. Narrow defeats to Promotion chasing Sheffield United and Notts County are nothing to be ashamed of, while draws with Stevenage (3rd) and Tranmere (2nd) are also noteworthy at this early stage of the season.
Shrewsbury will be able to kickstart their campaign this weekend, against a dire Scunthorpe United side that could only draw 1-1 at home against nine men on Saturday, and that have mustered a single point from their first five games. Scunthorpe will go down and if Shrewsbury are to succeed in this league, it’s games like this that they need to win. They will, and at a best price of 1.91 (Pinnacle), they’re a must for your football accumulator bets this weekend.
The best bookmaker with which to place our Football League accumulator bet this weekend is Pinnacle, as they are best priced about two of our accumulator tips, and at 1.56 about Sheffield United, they’re pretty close to Bet365‘s top price of 1.57. A £20 bet at the current odds would return £133.49 – not to be sniffed at.
