The women’s event in Bad Gastein has already seen the departures of its two main favourites, Andrea Petkovic and Mona Barthel, but Austrian tennis fans should nevertheless get to enjoy some intriguing match-ups over the next few days.

The clash between Lisa-Maria Moser and Andrea Hlavackova might not look like the most interesting matches of the bunch, but that does in no way mean that bettors should just brush it aside and ignore it complete. On the contrary – this particular match is one of those that seem to offer decent value to punters that are willing to try their luck on an underdog.

It would be unreasonable to think that Lisa-Maria Moser has the same tennis quality as Andrea Hlavackova, but it would also be quite unreasonable to think that the young Austrian won’t get any chances to get into the match and to put the Czech under considerable pressure. After all, this has been a tremendous week for Moser so far and her spirits will be lifted by the fact that she was able to play very well against someone as strong as Mona Barthel, so she should be able to just give it a go and start swinging at the ball as soon as she emerges on the court on Friday.

Moreover, Andrea Hlavackova has had a fair share of problems in her most recent appearances, dropping a set against Viktorija Golubic and losing against Alexandra Cadantu after missing a few match points. Those are things that could still be in the back of her mind on Friday – and this encounter could therefore easily turn into a tight contest with neither of the two players being able to dominate the proceedings.
