The Kings came from behind three times in Game 5, only to lose at the end of two overtime periods and they return to California fully aware of the importance of this fixture. Chicago is still alive in the series and if they can force a Game 7, the Blackhawks will have the first chance to play the final against the NY Rangers.
Bet: LA Kings
Odds: Winner Sports 2.20
Playing on the road hasn’t been a problem for Chicago during the playoffs, but the Kings are still the owners of some of the best home ice record in NHL. They have made giant leaps forward offensively and scored an average of 4 goals per match in this series. The problem is that their airtight defenses are just as vulnerable and despite Jonathan Quick’s best efforts, they allowed an average of 3 goals per game.
Now that the series shifts to Los Angeles, the Kings will try to replicate their opening game performance and bolster the defenses. Back then, they limited Chicago to 1 goal and their penalty killing unit did a brilliant job, denying the hosts a chance to convert any of the power play opportunities. In addition to containing Toews, Kane and Sharp, the Kings will need to reduce the number of penalty minutes, as they tend to spend a lot of time on the bench.
This is the first time that Winner Sports offers odds of 2.20 for Los Angeles to win at home in regulation time and punters should take advantage. The Rangers didn’t allow the series to go into Game 7 and the Kings will do the same, while bold punters who back them will double the investment.
