Another week comes to its end, which means that we’re going to see the final matches today. Four great encounters are therefore to be seen today, but we’re going to look at just one of them, as most of the matches look really hard to call. So, where’s our bet for today going to come from? Well, it’s going to come from the men’s event in Barcelona, which is going to end with a battle between the world’s number seventeen, Kei Nishikori, and the world’s number sixty-five, Santiago Giraldo.

Match: Kei Nishikori vs Santiago Giraldo

Best Odds: 1.95 @ Pinnacle

You may remember that we backed Santiago Giraldo against Dominic Thiem in the middle of the week, but we aren’t going to repeat that today, as his recent results seem to be pretty misleading. For starters, he could – and probably should – have lost his match against the Austrian, who had a massive number of break points in the deciding set, but who simply couldn’t find a way to convert any of them and therefore fell to a defeat. The injured Philipp Kohlschreiber wasn’t the biggest of challenges either and the same can be said about Nicolas Almagro, who was clearly affected by his victory against Rafael Nadal and who wasn’t able to play his best tennis as a result of that.

Kei Nishikori, the world’s number seventeen, has been cruising through his matches without any problems and one can be sure that he’s going to like this match-up, as he has a 4-1 record against the Colombian, who was able to win just four games against the Japanese number one when the two met in Indian Wells a few months ago. There’s a big difference between these two guys at the minute – and we expect Nishikori to win this match with something to spare.
