Kansas City lost the opening game and conceded no less than nine runs, but they have an excellent opportunity of tying the score in the series. The Orioles have extended their winning streak to six games in a row and hope that the offensive can propel Jason Hamilton to a rare victory away from home.
Bet: Kansas City
Odds: Winner Sports 1.90
The Royals used to be a fairly strong home team, but it all went down the drain after the All-Stars game, with Kansas losing three games. They will send Bruce Chen to the mound and hope that the pitcher can keep his winning streak alive while adding his fourth success in 2013. He limited opponents to two runs per game in each of his starts and could’ve pitched much deeper into the last game, but was retired in the sixth inning. This time, manager Ned Yost will keep him on the pitch for as long as he can, in an attempt of capitalizing on this tiny advantage they have over the Orioles.
The visitors are overly concerned about how Jason Hamilton will perform after losing three consecutive decisions and posting an ERA of 5.59. It’s been almost 2 months since he last recorded a win and there are very few reasons to be confident ahead of his game, especially with the Royals having an excellent record against him. If Baltimore is to extend its winning streak, then its heating unit will need to play brilliantly and provide the starting pitcher with plenty of runs of support, to offset his struggles.
The two teams are evenly matched and Winner Sports offers odds of 1.90 for both of them, but punters should value a strong starting pitcher more than a winning streak and back Kansas City.
